All drawing tools respect a 'dithering' mode that specifies whether the drawing tools affect odd pixels, even pixels, or all pixels.  If all pixels are affected, the ditherng mode specifies whether the 'secondary' color is used in conjunction with the 'primary' color to form a dithered pattern on the image.

Transparent drawing modes for many tools (aka. 'alpha' channel).
